Last weekend I spent Sat at Brighton Beach, the weather was around 99 degrees and the sea was like a warm bath, it was the only place to stay cool. On Sunday the temperature rose to 110 so getting to the beach was not even an option, so i locked myself in my flat, put the air con on and watched tv all day.

Last night I went to the Austalian Open and watched another American get knocked out, which makes 2 in 2 years and they were both favourites. I discover after that Charlize Theron was there but I missed her :( I watched NO.8 seed Justine Henin-Hardenne's beat Lindsay Davenport in the quarter-finals and watched some of Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis and Croatian Ivan Ljubicic. The mens match was almost like a football match, with a strong Greek and Croatian community here they were chanting football songs and making themselves heard.

Tomorrow is Australia Day which is a public holiday here. I've been invited to a BBQ but they expect the temp again to rise to 110 so I doubt I will be able to get there. The temperature at the moment is 25C which is about 80F and it is 7.30 in the evening.
