I think the reason I am not updating this website as regularly as I used to is all down to FaceBook, although I wish people would stop sending me links to useless applications. There are far to many developers out there with nothing better to do. Last week I reached the final stage of my permanent residency application to Australia, I now need to go offshore to an Australian Embassy to find out if it has been approved. On Monday I am going to fly to New Zealand so fingers crossed I will be back by the weekend as a permanent resident of Australia and only 12months away from my dual passport.
I went to see Australia vs Argentina in a football friendly on Tuesday night, I was sat between a Bolton and Man Utd fan. It's a small world :)
Argentina, with the brilliant Lionel Messi to the fore, showed just why it was ranked No. 2 in the world with a silky, skilful display, taking the honours in front of a crowd of 70,171 with a second-half headed goal by defender Martin Demichelis.
Australia could have got its nose in front in the eighth minute when Bresciano's shot from Kennedy's flick-on deflected off Demichelis' boot and into the arms of goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri. Another day, it might just as easily have ricocheted into the net.
Thompson showed he was at home in such company with lively runs and a preparedness to take on defenders, but it was Bresciano's ability with a dead ball that came closest to giving the Socceroos the lead in the 24th minute.
