Back in Melbourne

melbourne australia

I landed back in Melbourne after a long journey from England with Emirates. It was not the usual high level of service that I used to get and these are just some of the problems I faced.

The driver waited outside my house for twenty minutes without knocking on the door to inform me he was there. Usually they arrived twenty minutes early and try and rush me when I am saying goodbye to my family.

The driver then drove across a main road and proceeded to drive on the wrong side of the road. He then forget about me in the back of his car and drove to his depot instead of dropping me at the airport.

As Dubai airport is taking a record number of passengers the airport is not big enough to accommodate them. You spend your stop-over queuing for the toilet, then the shower and then you should join the queue again for the toilet in case you may need it again.

In Dubai the plane boarded late and as we had our own boarding gate from the lounge we all congregated around the gate. There however were no seats so we all stood around, some stood for thirty minutes whilst we all looked at the economy class on the floor below all sat down. There is something wrong with that.

The business class seat on the 2nd leg of the journey, which is the longest is not as wide as the 1st leg which is very disappointing and as I had booked it last minute my seat had limited storage which was a shame.

The Emirates staff were generally not as courteous as they usually are, apart from two of them I could have been mistaken for being on a British Airways flight. I will not go into more details about what happened as I am currently awaiting their response.
