The past few days the weather has been very hot in Melbourne. Ben Spier aka Goodgreef was in Melbourne this weekend with Eddie Halliwell. Eddie was playing in front of around 12000 fans from 3-5am, which was amazing as last time I did not get to hear him play as the equipment failed. read more

I rented a car this weekend and drove down the coast to the which is just over an hours drive out of Melbourne City. I've just come home from the football where Melbourne was playing in the Semi-Final against Adelaide United. Knowing a draw would not be enough for Victory, Robinson secured the win in the dying stages of the match, sending the Telstra Dome crowd into a frenzied celebration. read more

Morning All, I went to see last night in concert or known as the dirty dozen minus eminem. Melbourne had one of its hottest December days on record as the temperature reached 42.1 at 2.45pm on NYE. But within 30 minutes on New Years Day, as the cool change swept in from the south, the temperature dropped more than 17 degrees to about 25. It was Melbourne's hottest early-December day since 1898 and its sixth-hottest December day. Thursday Night I went to Australia vs Greece in the MCG where the opening ceremony for the Commonwealth Games were held. The game was not the best , George Samaras had a bad first half and was taken off at half time, there was pressure for him to start the game as his dad was born in Melbourne and played for South Melbourne. The goal that settled the game (aus won 1-0) was worthy of the world cup, a superb volley. read more

Day: 522 11th September 2005 manchester derby

C'mon the blues, I went to a pub in North Melbourne called the Keepers Arms which is owned by a city fan from Manchester who moved over to Melbourne. Around 20 of us sat around a big screen with a few reds watching the game.   Great to silence the swamp :) I have just moved my last things out of my old flat and the cleaners are coming in on Monday with an objection of trying to get as much as my bond back. read more

This weekend in Melbourne was the Greek Festival. A lot of the main roads in the city were closed and turned into a fairground with rides, food stalls and a live concert of authentic Greek music. Tuesday was the , it is a horse race if you did not know. The day was a complete washout , the rain did not stop and there was a wind that would put the Amsterdam wind to shame. The weather has been great in Melbourne the past couple of weeks. Warm and Sunny and since the clocks moved forward and we are now in Summer Time the sun is out later each day. This is the first summer in my new flat and the balcony is far superior to Eureka, I can come home from work at 5pm and catch the sun till it sets about 8pm creating an amazing orange sunset. read more

Day: 2105 12th January 2010 hot night

Last night equaled the hottest night ever in Melbourne History. It was 34 degrees Celsius the entire night and at 9AM it had only dropped to 30. The only other time that temperatures have gone over 40 degrees Celsius and not dropped below 34 degrees Celsius during the night was in February 1902. They are predicting the temperature will rise again to 40 degrees Celsius today before a cool change comes in later this afternoon so at least tonight is expected to be cool. read more

We are having some amazing weather here at the moment in Melbourne while my family and friends freeze over there in England. This is , my place of worship and only a 15 minute train journey away. The weather today was a nice 34 Celsius which is 93.2 Fahrenheit and Sunday is expected to be the same but Monday is going to be 41 Celsius, 105.8 Fahrenheit, thankfully I am going to be at work in a nice air conditioned office. read more

I finally upgraded my iPhone to firmware 3.0 and I have not seen any problems running it on my 2G yet and I have even managed to squash 25 icons on my desktop with a folder full of games.  And before you say, what about backgammon, it is not a game, it is a way of life LOL. What a crazy week in Melbourne. I woke up to find my water bed had burst a leak and then remembered I don't have a water bed! LOL It is very hard to fry (my oven is broke) and then discover your flat is full of smoke , so you have to open the balcony before the smoke alarm goes off but it is like opening an oven and getting a blast of hot air rushing in. read more

Wednesday night Service Stream, the company I work for had its Christmas Party at Eurkea. Eurkea is the building I used to live in until early this year, my flat used to be on the 32nd floor and the company had hired out the 89th floor with views streatching miles over melbourne. Day: 1004 7th January 2007 very very hot

The past week here in Melbourne the weather has been between 90 and 100 making it a very sweaty week. On Friday it reached 102 and the air con at work broke down, so Friday morning was unbearable at work. The drought is getting worse and to give an exampe of how much water has been lost, the rivers are now dry and they are revealing weapons that people discarded years ago, I think some criminals will be a bit worried this week. read more

I am having a lazy weekend , I have been to a new doughnut shop in the city and got myself a dozen selection for the football tonight.   For some reason when I left the shop there was loads of people waiting, I think I must have timed it just right. I am off to see Melbourne Victory play on Sunday, they are top of the league after winning 7 in a row so I hope I dont bring them bad luck as it is my first game of the season. read more

I was at FedSq watching the game last night, and what a game it was. SOCCEROO fans rocked the city last night as Federation Square became the epicentre of Melbourne's World Cup celebrations. Tonight I went to a Young Professionals at the Melbourne Aquarium. The event was to support four charities: the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, beyondblue, Child Wise and Oxfam Australia. The only worrying thing was the fish they served whilst fish swimmed over your heads, it all seemed so wrong but its rude not to at least try everything once. read more

We have had rain non stop and it has caused flooding all over the place, on the way into work this morning shop signs were hanging off and trees were all over the roads. Melbourne's average February rainfall is 45.8mm, but the city received 120mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am (AEDT) today, more than for any other day in any month since records began in 1856. The previous record for rainfall over the city in 24 hours was 108mm in 1951. read more

A FLORAL foul-up has left a city street lined with swastika shapes in a week of major Jewish celebrations. Gardeners hired by Melbourne City Council intended to arrange the purple and white pot plants into neat geometric shapes. I just got my 2nd water bill after 5 years and it is worse than the one before. I am now using 239 Litres per day which is an increase of 9 Litres a day since I started trying to save water. Since I started to try and save water I have actually increased my usage LOL. read more

Another quarter and another failed target, I have not managed to hit the 155 litres a day target which the water board tell us we should aim for. I am using an average of 202 litres a day but it is 28 litres per day less than this quarter last year. At least I am on the right track by reducing my water but at this rate by the time I reach target 155 it will have been lowered to 100 litres. read more

I am now sat ready for the Man United and Liverpool game, it is the last weekend that the games are on early before we change the clocks forward. I have redone the website removing most tables and images and replacing them with CSS. The site loads quicker and the code is neater which some search engines will like more, not that I need any more help getting this site indexed. read more

I have just landed in dubai, I had just written a huge blog update but as I posted it the wi-fi crashed leaving me with no blog entry. I am sat in the longue in Dubai waiting for my next flight to Singapore, the flight was ok, a bit bumpy in parts and at one point all the trays were crashing around us which did make me a bit scared. Enough was Enough , my hair had got so long I wasbeginning to resemble a cross between a reborn Jesus and an ACDC fan so this morning I ventured into the barbers and got my hair cut.
