I had my first Christmas party at my new place of work and it was a lot quieter than other ones I have attended. We had a BBQ and some drinks at the local tennis club and my colleagues invited there partners and children along so it was more of a family friendly event then the usual drinking and tomfoolery that I am used to.
On a positive note I was not embarrassed to come back into work the next day as I was on my best behavior and did not even drink or eat the whole day. My friends know how picky I am with my food and I rarely eat out in places if I do not know how the food was prepared.
