I know England is in debt and struggling to find money to pay for vital services but last night was a big shock. At round midnight Whitefield was plunged into darkness, some streets were back on within minutes but the rest had to wait for around 20 minutes before power was restored.
It is very eerie driving around in the dark with street and traffic lights off and the sound of house alarms wailing around you. There still has been no explanation or even news story on this yet but as more information is released hopefully the cause will become clear.
Power has now resumed and I found an amazing torch in the house which pulls out and turns into a lamp and combine that with 3 candles, 2 laptops and a mobile phone I successfully managed to get around the house without injuring myself.
