I upgraded my return journey from economy to business after I price matched them against Etihad and got Emirates to reduce the cost by 50%. This meant my luggage allowance increased from 30kg to 40kg plus I had just got enough air miles from the first leg to become a silver member (again) and that gave me another 12kg.
That brought my total luggage allocation to 52kg and I had only brought 24kg with me so this meant I had a lot of spare weight I just had to use.
I asked my dad if he had a suitcase he never wanted to see again and he dully obliged and provide me with a case ready for the bin.
I filled it up, and I mean filled it up with so many crisps and chocolates that I will never have to visit the British shop in Melbourne again.
I packed it up with mainly Wispa and Walkers which are the two treats I really miss from England.
I tried to do a stock take this weekend as I realised that some expire in Dec/Jan so I need to ensure that I do not miss any. On discovery of my first pack of biscuits which expire in the next month I sat down and ate them all lol.
