Melbourne has been hit with flash floods after Yasi hit Queensland and then travelled inland which has seen the build up in moisture spreading south causing flooding in many areas.
You could tell yesterday that the flood gates were ready to be opened as the humidity keep increasing throughout the day. I decided to leave work early to avoid the peak public transport which proved to be a good move as soon after I arrived from home it started raining and raining.
The picture is from the train line I take so you can see how quickly it fell and filled up the train tracks which caused commuters to be stranded in the city.
Thankfully what Melbourne has experienced in the past 24 hours is nothing compared to what our fellow Aussies are going through in Queensland and Melbourne will be back basking in sunshine within a few days.
