Last night I went back to Manchester to see Manchester City play Napoli in the first ever Champions League in the borough of Manchester. The club put on an exhibition inside the stadium to welcome the UEFA delegates to Manchester and greeted the Italians with a sign saying benvenuti which means welcome in Italian.

27 artefacts from Manchester were brought together to celebrate the local culture including a can of Boddingtons Bitter, the last brick from the Hacienda nightclub, a script from Coronation Street and many more.

The game was a nervous affair but even as a biased City fan we should have won it but I suspect nerves played a big part in us only drawing. When the music started inside the stadium I can honestly say I got a bit nervous myself.

I managed to grab just under six hours sleep and then came straight back to Leeds for one last day before the weekend.
