Surprising my Sister

manchester united kingdom

I landed in Manchester at 7PM and I wanted to get my luggage quickly and get out of the airport so I could surprise my sister who was at the pub for a Halloween party.

I, like most people take lots of pictures and my journey from Australia was no different. As I could not checkin or post any pictures online as I did not want to ruin the surprise I had taken more than I usually would.

As I was stood waiting for my luggage two undercover policemen suddenly appeared on either side of me and asked how I was. I was taken aback as I had never had such a friendly welcome at an English Airport.

It however turned out a passenger had complained I had taken a picture and the police wanted me to delete it. I did not want any trouble so I showed them all my pictures of the plane, business class, airport lounge, shower etc. The last picture was of the seating area and there was a couple in the picture. He said that is the picture and I obliged and deleted it. I can only suspect he or she were having an affair and did not want the picture to be posted online.

When I collected my luggage I approached the same two policemen and apologised for them having to deal with such a trivial request when they obviously were looking for terrorists and smugglers.

There response was abrupt and rude and told me to stop wasting more of their time and to leave immediately.

My good friend Lyndsay Englander @Lynseng was in on the plan and was waiting at the airport to whisk me back to Whitefield so I could have a shower before going to the pub.

I walked into the pub and as you can see from the video my sister was so shocked her voice went higher and higher and ran across the pub to give me a huge huge. This was without doubt the best homecoming welcome I have ever received.

I had a really great night in the pub catching up with my sister, brother in-law and all my friends. I may have drank a bit much from the state I woke up in.

I then headed to my parents at eight in the morning and knocked on my parents front door to surprise my mum and dad. The look on their face was priceless and worth every penny.

I could not have pulled this off with Lyndsay and to you I say, thank you very much for all your hard work, sneaky tactics and putting Francesca off the scent when she became suspicious #bff.
