FaceTime
I get a bit bored when I am not working but thankfully when I come home from work my sister in England is awake and my two nephews still have that morning buzz about them.
June Catchup
I have not been doing anything exciting recently which is why I have not posted any updates. I have finished buying everything for my flat and nicely settled in and I have my weekends back to myself. On the downside I now have actually nothing to do at the weekends and look forward to Mondays when I can go back into work. It is nice doing a job you enjoy, some mornings I have been waking up at five in the morning and just going into work.
King Kong
I went to see King Kong the musical as I had heard they spent four years building Kong so I was expecting a lot and unfortunately I was left disappointed.
Roast Lamb
I now have my fridge so I am able to buy fresh meat, fish and vegetables from the market and step up my cooking. I celebrated with a leg of lamb and roast potatoes. I was going to make homemade gravy and mint sauce but the lamb looked so great when it came out I could not wait and starting carving away. After letting it rest obviously.
Boxes From the UK
I picked up some boxes I had sent from England but the paperwork did not get updated with my new address so I had to pick them up from my friends. I only had two boxes sent but it is so nice to have more of my clothes and finally some warm jumpers.
Fridge & Washing Machine
I finally purchased a fridge and washing machine for my flat at the Vue Grande in Melbourne. At my age I can not believe I have never purchased one before but I have always rented my white goods in Australia and in England property has always come with them included.
South Melbourne Market
I went to the Imperial Hotel on Bourke Street to watch Manchester City play in the FA Cup final and there was a good turnout with loads of blues from England. It was a good night until the end of the game, I regret sending this tweet not asking for extra time. I also lost my Myki card on the way home to top off a bad night which you need in Melbourne to travel on the trains and trams and it had at least $30 on it.
Vue Grande
I finally found a flat to rent in Melbourne and moved to the Vue Grande in Southbank on Saturday. I hired a car to move my stuff from Seddon to my new flat and it was the easiest move I have ever done. It helped that my car park space is the same floor as my flat so I was able to move everything from the car to my flat without having to wait for the lift and it was all done in less than half an hour.
Launderette
I went to my first self-service launderette today, I kept expecting Dot Cotton to come out with a fag hanging from her mouth spreading some new gossip she had just heard but she was nowhere to be seen.
