I have started to give notice on some services and Thursday was Foxtel night. I am always hesitant about contacting them as from past experience they always make a mistake and cut me off early. A good example was when I came out to Australia from England and the electricity was terminated 3 days earlier than arranged, and to make it worse I was working on my computer at the time.
The Foxtel operator turned out to be a Manchester United fan and he 'accidentally' deactivated my service whilst on the phone to him instead of the 1st April. Thankfully I had it on mute and noticed it immediately before he could hang up. He sounded worried after putting me hold for 5 minutes and said he would fix it and call me back. I was convinced he would not but he proved me wrong and called back within 20 minutes and got me reactivated.
I remember reading about a Manchester United tourist who purchased those stupid split scarves and was in the United end wearing the colours of his rival team Manchester City. I present you sir with Tool of the year.
