WC Day1

WC Day1

I had another crazy week at work preparing for a big change on a high profile system and it went live without any problems, the public response seemed positive looking at the real time stats but the real test will be when the media are informed.

Alex Kidd VS Kidd Kaos

Alex Kidd VS Kidd Kaos

What a crazy week here in Melbourne, I have been working days and nights to get some code ready for a release last Saturday and Alex Kidd was in town with his entourage playing against Kidd Kaos who I had never heard play before and it was great night.

Body Service

Body Service

This month I took my body for its 35th year service. It was 35 years or 250,000 cigarettes which ever came sooner.I started off by visiting the doctor who then referred me to an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialist. I then had a medical at work where they told me I have high blood pressure and cholesterol but thankfully diabetes was ok.I then visited the specialist who told stuck a camera down my throat and made me talk whilst watching it on TV. He informed me I have some crazy acid problem, put me on some medication and referred me to a speech pathologist. After this appointment I rushed back to work to have my flu and swine flu combo injection. In one week I saw one doctor, one specialist and two nurses and I still have one more specialist to see who I hope looks like this :)

Jessica Watson

Jessica Watson

Welcome Home Jessica Watson who has been travelling around the world on her own for over seven months and she is only 16.It reminded me of my days at sea, rowing around Prestwich Park Lake, Fairhaven Lake and pedaling many a pedalo around Spain. I even recall once taking one from the beach and into Puerto Banus port in Spain which was a funny sight amongst all the millionaire boats. The only time you will see me on the seas nowadays is on a cruise ship sunbaking and being fed 24/7.

Water Usage Part 4

Water Usage Part 4

Another quarter and another failed target, I have not managed to hit the 155 litres a day target which the water board tell us we should aim for. I am using an average of 202 litres a day but it is 28 litres per day less than this quarter last year. At least I am on the right track by reducing my water but at this rate by the time I reach target 155 it will have been lowered to 100 litres.

Sandringham Line

Sandringham Line

I was woken up at 4am on Saturday morning and when I looked out my window I saw a selection of lorries and diggers who were using the back of my car park as the meeting point and were exchanging loads. Later on when I got on the train to the city to get my hair cut I discovered what all the noise was, they had dug up the Sandringham line to improve the track and the beeps were all the diggers reversing.

Easter Bunny

Easter Bunny

I must have dropped a dishcloth or walked under a ladder because last month I had a run of bad luck that I thought would never end.

Melbourne Storms

Melbourne Storms

At 2.40pm on Saturday a dark cloud covered Melbourne and a storm cell unleashed itself and for 20 minutes 19 millimetres of rain bucketed down and 10cm balls of hail with such force that they bounced up from the ground to head height. Walking around yesterday was as if Armageddon had struck Melbourne and now the recovery starts. I feel sorry for all those people in rented cars who are now returning them in exchange for a huge bill for damages, Southern Cross train station had to be evacuated as heavy rain tore a hole in its roof and a deluge splashed down on the train platforms and I am thankful none of my windows were smashed
