Green Mash

Green Mash

This is what I like to call Green Mash, it won't turn you into the hulk but tastes good. It started a few months ago when I was boiling some potatoes and broccoli and I left them on the heat for about 30mins whilst I was on the phone. When I returned the potatoes were overcooked and i just had to mash the lot together.

Fruit Explosion

Fruit Explosion

This week the weather has been getting hotter by the day climaxing today, Sunday at 37 Celsius this to Europeans is 99 Fahrenheit. I decided this morning I would try and get myself a bit healthier. I skipped the market as I did not fancy getting fruit that had been sat outside all day in this heat and instead headed to the supermarket and look at what I got. Banana, Melon, Grapefruit, Avocado, Tomato, Carrot, Coconut, Strawberries, Leek, Potatoe and Asparagus, what an exhilarating selection of fruit and veg to go along side the meat I purchased yesterday. I am having Beef Wellington for dinner on Monday :)

Manchester United 1 - Manchester City 2

I have not been doing much all week apart from nursing my finger. Last Thursday I was wiping down the oven when I sliced the top of my finger, I have been in pain for 10days now. If it was not on the tip of my right hand finger it would have healed a long time ago.

Pea Sandwich

Pea Sandwich

I had a lamb, mint and pea sandwich today for lunch. I do not think I have ever had peas in that way before.I thought at least the peas would be mushy like home but they were crunchy. I suppose it is a summer fad that is supposed to be refreshing with the mint but they ruined it and were plopping in the bin within one bite.

Australia Day

Australia Day

Saturday was Australia Day so I was not expecting anything to be open. The weather was hot so I thought I would run out to grab some lunch before it got hotter. When I walked past Prahran Market I found the place busy than I had ever seen. The butchers all had BBQ's and were cooking up every different type of sausage you could think of. I was in heaven :)

Australia Open 2008

Sony Vaio with HDMI

Sony Vaio with HDMI

My laptop finally decided to call it a day and committed suicide. Cause of Death: Hard drive failure and burnt out motherboard caused by overheating. I managed to remove the hard drive and plug it into my new laptop so I still have my data. This happened on Friday night and Saturday morning having opened it up my worst fears came true. It was beyond repair, 3 years is a very good run for a laptop so I should not really complain. It was not a good start to the weekend. This is my new replacement and it has got HDMI output :). I have to say a big thank you to Simon Whatley for helping me through my Vista Nighmare.

Melbourne had one of its hottest December days on record as the temperature reached 42.1 at 2.45pm on NYE. But within 30 minutes on New Years Day, as the cool change swept in from the south, the temperature dropped more than 17 degrees to about 25.

XMAS Update

Since I came back from England I have worked two weeks and had one week off for Xmas. It seems very weird sat here sun baking when I have just had 3 weeks off work to go to England. I have had a very relaxing week, sun baking and eating well but unfortunately not sleeping well as there has been so much football on TV so I have sleeping most of the day away.
